Known as one of the City's senior specialists in fund management and behind some of the high profile fund launches in London, Anand will become a director at New Star.
During his five years at HSBC, Anand advised on over £6bn of transactions, which includes raising £2.5bn in funds, the launch of 20 split capital investment trusts and one of the first fund of hedge fund launches in London.
