TrustNet, the online UK fund information specialist, has merged with Financial Express Prestel, a fund data supplier for the UK financial industry.
TrustNet is a free daily updated fund service online, covering all UK authorised funds, listing more than 8,000 unit trusts, Oeics, investment trusts, pension and life funds, warrants and exchange traded funds. Financial Express Prestel collects 100% of the daily fund prices made available by fund management groups in the UK and is relied upon as the sole or main source of this data by data vendors, fund supermarkets, financial websites and intermediaries, according to the group.
As a result of the merger the two will be able to provide asset management groups with a data partnership for the collection, assembly and presentation of fund data and information.
Together the two services will be able to provide daily prices and dividends, fund factsheets, histories and total return performance statistics, capital events and key features documents.
The combination of the two groups will enable managers to streamline their data requirements, ultimately reducing internal data management costs.
The two companies already distribute data to all UK fund supermarkets, more than 4,000 intermediaries, data analysis software packages, institutional terminals and financial websites and portals.
Michael Holland, Financial Express Prestel managing director, said: 'This union of front and back office information accelerates the natural development in both business models. Groups will be able to enhance the accuracy and presentation of their data and intermediaries will benefit from better and more timely information for their selling process.'
