Barry Sanjana has been appointed chief investment officer of Friends Ivory & Sime.
He will also join the management committee of the company responsible for overseeing its operations
Howard Carter, the previous CIO of Friends Ivory & Sime, was recently appointed its chief executive following the retirement of Peter Jones. Carter said: "We appointed Barry as his investment approach fits very well with that of the existing team, in the sense his style is growth-oriented."
Debbie Clarke, head of equities, Philip Hunt, head of bonds, Ian MacFarlane, head of strategy and Greg Richmond, head of investment philosophy and process, will report directly to Sanjana.
Sanjana was previously at Morley Fund Management where he fulfilled the same role. He left after the merger of Norwich Union and CGU, Morley's parent company.
