A marketing club for intermediaries has been set up by former National Mutual marketing manager Stephen Phillips.
The Independent Intermediary Marketing Club, launched last week, is an internet-based service also aimed at insurance brokers.
For a monthly fee of £41.13, members will be entitled to a range of support including a telephone and e-mail enquiry service to discuss marketing ideas, a quarterly newsletter delivered by e-mail, and up to four specially drafted A4 items per year.
Members will also receive all marketing guides produced by the Insurance Marketing Department, the parent company behind the marketing club. In addition, they will be entitled to 20% off the cost of professional consultancy fees, designed to bring the charge down to £70 per hour, including VAT.
Phillips, who was with National Mutual in the 1990s, said: 'Intermediaries have traditionally enjoyed marketing support from product providers. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this but limited resources now appear to be making it less easy to access than previously.
'In any event, what many intermediaries may prefer is a marketing view totally independent of product providers.'
