Abbey National is to offer some of its customers Liverpool Victoria's With Profits Growth Bond.
Abbey says this partnership with the UK's biggest Friendly Society capitalises on the FSA's depolarisation of the direct investments market.
Select Abbey National customers have been introduced to the product by a direct mail campaign, which began Wednesday.
The FSA relaxed polarisation in April last year to allow tied product providers, including most banks and building societies, to introduce other regulated products and services to their own customers through direct mail and advertising on a non-advised basis.
Pak Chan, head of direct investments at Abbey National, said: "Thanks to changes in the polarisation rules, Abbey National is now in the position to offer our customers who do not require advice, a greater choice of the investment funds available in the market."
