The NAPF, OPRA, PMI, and ACA have joined forces to discuss the pensions time-bomb that threatens to overwhelm the UK, and broadcast the message directly to hundreds of clients of consultant Mercer.
Broadcast took place in Westminster yesterday afternoon, but Mercer says the transcripts of the questions should be up on its website by Thursday or Friday this week.
Included on the broadcast discussion panel were National Association of Pension Funds chairman Peter Thompson, Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority board member Wendy Beaver, Pensions Management Institute president Ian Eggleden, and Association of Consulting Actuaries chairman Gordon Pollock.
Mercer says questions asked by its clients included the impact of volatile stock markets on pension funds, the issue of raising the retirement age, and possible future tax increases linked to pensions income needs.
