Io Investors, formerly GenSec International Asset Management, is entering the UK retail market with a range of multi-manager products.
Io had previously restricted its multi-manager offering to the institutional market.
The group's core offering, the Global Balanced multi-manager fund, domiciled in Dublin, has had a second Ucits fund added, which will be used for the UK retail market from 1 March, when the application is expected to be processed.
Investors can choose from 12 underlying UK-registered funds, comprising fixed interest, cash, active equity and tracker portfolios, covering all of the major global markets.
The underlying funds can be selected in a mix-and-match format. Management has been outsourced to eight fund management groups: Merrill Lynch, SG Asset Management, Putnam, Capital International, Lombard Odier, ABN Amro, StateStreet and Brandywine.
Gary Flowers, director of intermediary business development at Io, said: 'Trustees are now saying they have not got the expertise to hire and fire managers and make asset allocation calls. The fact we don't invest in collectives gives us the ability to invest across the world.'
