Exeter has appointed Max Schlaefli as sole manager of its High Income unit trust. Schlaefli, formerly of Christows, joined the firm earlier this year and has been jointly managing the fund with Chris Giles. Exeter High Income invests in income shares of split caps but has been harmed by the demise in the sector. Its largest holdings include Jupiter Split, City of Oxford Geared Income and Special Utilities. Giles remains with Exeter and will focus on managing several of the group's investment trusts.
