The good times keep rolling on for John Duffield and his New Star asset management team, which today has announced it is in talks to take over rival fund management group Artemis. The deal, said to be worth more than £40m, would match the £350m of assets under management by New Star with the £550m under management by Artemis. Support in the form of additional funding to close the deal is not expected to be a problem given Duffield's reputation in the industry. The deal would match up New Star's performance in UK growth and European funds with Artemis' strong showing through it...
