The good times keep rolling on for John Duffield and his New Star asset management team, which today ...
The deal, said to be worth more than £40m, would match the £350m of assets under management by New Star with the £550m under management by Artemis.
Support in the form of additional funding to close the deal is not expected to be a problem given Duffield's reputation in the industry.
The deal would match up New Star's performance in UK growth and European funds with Artemis' strong showing through its UK smaller companies and UK growth funds.
Artemis' six funds will be renamed New Star Artemis, although a degree of autonomy will be retained.
Duffield is likely to go after other deals as indicated when he asked initial investors in New Star to be prepared to fund acquisitions when the time was right.
£92bn transferred since 2015
