An automated mailing system went drastically wrong for New Star recently when thousands of letters were sent to its clients, entitled 'Dear Rabbi', plus the client's surname. The automated function, which is outsourced to a mailing company, should have pasted in relevant titles such as Mr, Miss or Dr to its client list. However an error in the system means all clients were titled Rabbi. New Star would not comment, saying it sought no further publicity on the issue.
