Venture capital group MTI has expanded its technology team through the appointment of Tom Jarman as investment manager.
Following the final closing of MTI's fourth fund earlier this year at £104m, more than three times the size of MTI3, and with a continuing flow of attractive investment opportunities, the group felt it needed to expand and strengthen its team of technology managers to nine.
MTI is an independent company which provides risk capital and management resources to British technology companies that are at an early stage of their development or recovery.
Investments are typically up to £5m, although larger amounts can be accommodated, and return on investment is sought principally in the form of capital gain.
Jarman was previously the managing director of Tellermate/Percell, a producer of money counting equipment for world markets. He will work alongside investee companies in the high technology venture capital sector.
Paul Castle, founder and chief executive officer of MTI, said: 'Jarman's experience as a qualified technologist and managing director in the technology sector mirrors the profiles of the existing members of the MTI team.'
