Consultation on mortgage regulations will be published by the FSA in a few weeks, once after the Treasury reveals its thoughts on legislation at the end of this month.
Although little detail is yet available, this will be the first consultation on mortgage rules since the FSA agreed to take over regulation of the mortgage sector, said John Tiner, managing director of the FSA.
Tiner was speaking in response to a question tabled at the FSA's annual meeting in London this morning.
He also added the FSA would produce a joint report with the Treasury in December looking at further details of mortgage regulations expects to complete implementation of the new mortgage regulations by H2 2002.
