Halifax was named best overall lender and lender for service at Legal & General's annual Mortgage Club Awards on Friday.
Looking specifically at firms listed as L&G Mortgage Club members, the awards, hosted in London by football pundit Alan Hansen, were voted by mortgage brokers, while the Mortgage Intermediary categories highlighted improved business performance between 2001 and 2002.
Other winners included:
In the mortgage advisers category, Mortgage Advice Bureau also picked up two awards to maintain the main slot as Top Business Partner with L&G.
MoneyQuest - an mortgage brokerage which has managed to improve its business potential by over 200% thanks to the use of online processing - was named fastest growing business partner, as it had just submitted just over 100 cases with L&G, but has been able to dramatically increase its position since.
John Hugh Independent FS was named fastest growing IFA, and has already been tipped to appear in next year's awards, while London & Country Mortgages was named as IFA of the year.
Awards were presented in association with Mortgage Solutions, which is an Incisive Media publications and sister to IFAonline.
