The Association of Convenience Stores whose members include Spar and Europa Foods has chosen Pearl As...
ACS - in partnership with Pearl - is to work to provide access to information for employees of corner shops and grocery stores on how to open a stakeholder pension.
Government legislation stipulates that all companies with five or more employees highlight the presence of stakeholders pension introduced in addition to the state pension whose funds is predicted to fall short of the ageing British population in coming years.
Chief executive of ACS Trevor Dixon said: "We are delighted to be entering into this arrangement with Pearl. ACS members will be able to contact Pearl to get information about how they can meet their obligations under stakeholder pension legislation."
Pearl, which normally sells assurance door to door, is setting up a free service called Pearl at Work that will visit stores to help explain the implications of stakeholder pensions to both employers and employees.
