Thomas Berger has joined Winterthur Life as chief investment officer. Berger was previously a global partner and co-head of global investment products at Invesco, as well as a director of Merrill Lynch and Lombard Odier Portfolio Management. His latest role includes the selection of external fund manager links for the group. Meanwhile, the firm reported an increase of 51% in newly insured single premium pensions business sold by IFAs for the first quarter of 2003, according to ABI figures.
