Premier Portfolio Managers has added a UK Blue Chip fund to its Luxembourg Sicav and appointed a fifth manager to run its Global Select Fund.
The UK Blue Chip fund will be run by four different managers Ã Investec who will invest in small, medium and large companies; BWD Rensburg who will invest in FTSE 250 mid-cap equities; Rathbones who will invest in equities outside the FTSE 100 and will include small and medium companies; and Forthill Asset Management who will invest primarily in the FTSE 100.
Each manager has a different investment style and the UK Blue Chip Fund strategy is to achieve growth through these different approaches. The initial charge is 5% and there is a 1.5% annual management charge. Minimum investment is $5,000.
Claude Guillaume, of BNP Paribas Asset Management, will be the fifth manager for the Global Select Fund launched in December and will run the pan-European equities portfolio.
Guillaume will use a bottom-up stock selection approach based on fundamental research identifying quality large and mid-cap growth stocks.
The four other managers of Global Select are: Peter Cundill of Cundill Investment Research who runs the Global Fundamental Equities portfolio; Paul Baran of Mackenzie Investment Management who manages the US Large Cap portfolio; Jim Broadfoot of Mackenzie Ivy Management who runs the US Emerging Growth portfolio; and Richard Muckart of Premier Fund Managers who leads the Far Eastern Equities portfolio.
Minimum investment for the Global Select Fund is $2,500.
In addition, the Premier European Growth Fund is offering a 1% discount until 1 June 2001. The fund has had a 91.62% return over the past three years, according to the group.
The European Growth Fund is managed by Catherine Guinefort of BNP Paribas Asset Management. She uses a bottom-up stock selection approach based on fundamental research focused on identifying quality large and mid-cap growth stocks.
Minimum lump sum investment for the fund is £1,000 and minimum additional investment is £500. Initial charges are 4% with the discount and the annual management fee is 1.5%.
