Premier Portfolio Managers has recruited Dougie Adams from Templeton, writes James Thorneley.
Adams will take up a position on the group's board as international sales director when he joins in April. He was previously business planning director for Europe at Templeton.
He joined Templeton as marketing director in 1988. Prior to that he was an economist for Scottish Provident and head of industrial programme development for the Scottish Development Agency.
Jonathon Fry, managing director of Premier Portfolio Managers, said that Adams would be heading the group's expansion of its fund business in Europe.
He added: "Dougie has a deep knowledge of the dynamics of the European mutual fund market and an understanding of the key factors for successful distribution through intermediaries and direct sales to institutions."
Premier Portfolio Managers is part of Premier Asset Management which has in total £400m funds under management. It runs 11 unit trusts including Premier Enterprise which is ranked two out of 33 in the Active Managed sector over three years.
