Charcolonline has launched an online household insurance broking service. The site allows users to compare and apply online for home buildings and contents insurance.
The service allows users to compare policies from nine leading providers including Legal & General, AllianzCornhill, Fortis, Groupama and Lloyd's of London. Further additions to the insurance providers will be announced over the coming weeks.
With household insurance premiums look set to rise, the service aims to attract household insurance seekers prepared to shop around for the best value cover. The service is integrated into Charcolonline's existing mortgage site and has been developed in association with independent insurance brokers, Heath Lambert Group.
Charcolonline said after an initial application time of 5 minutes the site displays all the quotes available based on a user's individual requirements. The user can then compare prices and features, select the one that offers the best value cover and go on to buy the chosen policy online.
Toby Strauss, managing director for Charcol, commented "This is the latest step in our drive to offer customers access to a broad range of financial products - online, over the phone or face-to-face. So, in addition to some of the best mortgage deals available, Charcolonline users now have access to some of the most competitive household insurance quotes on the market with the backing of one of the world's largest insurance brokers."
Users can choose at any time to move to phone-based or face-to-face advice, or click on the Call Me buttons to have a customer support operative talk them through the online process.
