investing in a combination of UK investment trusts and zeros.
Fund manager Godwin Tsui will run the product much like a managed fund but with investment trust capital shares replacing equities and zeros playing the part of bonds.
When the fund is launched there will be a heavy emphasis on the high-growth element: Close's quants team will isolate the capital shares of heavily discounted investment trusts that look set to profit from narrowing spreads. As good investment possibilities dry up, the proportion of zeros will increase, in a proportion decided by investment adviser, Rod Leonard.
The UK-based, sterling-denominated Oeic will have a minimum investment of £3,000, with a 5% initial charge of which 3% will be available as commission, and an annual management charge of 1.5%, 0.5% of which will be available as a trail fee.
