London's FTSE 100 index is off by nearly 50 points at 5,179 this morning as overnight signals in New York were anything but positive. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 56.46 to close at 10,094.09 as Nasdaq's Composite index went down 10.85 points to 2,044.89. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index dropped 125.55 points to 10,538.43 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 247.25 to 11,193.47.
