UK equity fund manager Martin Cobb has left First State Investments to join Scottish Value Management's (SVM) UK equity assets team. At First State Cobb managed the British Opportunities Fund prior to the arrival of Derek Lygo from Dresdner RCM in October last year. He has since acted as an adviser to the fund. At SVM, Cobb will be responsible for the group's UK equity assets and specialise in the retailing and pharmaceutical sectors. Cobb's arrival brings SVM's investment team up to nine managers.
