Axa is to set up a specialist unit dealing with large pension schemes in a bid to position itself as a top five player in the pension marketplace.
The unit is part of a revamp of the administration platform for Axa pension products and is designed to ensure large pension schemes are dealt with smoothly with its support services. The revamp will see all Axa's group pension products administered on the same platform, enabling cost and time savings, it said.
Axa has also developed Axa-link, a software package allowing payroll details to be securely downloaded directly from a company's payroll system. It enables production of client-specific illustrations and pre-populated application forms as well as contribution collection.
Steve Folkard, head of pensions marketing, said, 'A key part of Axa's strategy is to grow our share of the group pensions market. This will be done by delivering what employee benefits consultants and specialist advisers require, not only in terms of product features but in the way we structure and deliver our services as a whole.'
