Scottish Equitable, the Inland Revenue and the Annuity Bureau are all providing speakers at a Sipps conference to be held in London on 27 June.
Designed to provide technical information and have an emphasis on practical issues for intermediaries and trustees, the conference features a number of key speakers including Ronnie Lymburn of the Annuity Bureau and the Inland Revenue's Alan Bateman.
The conference at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel in London is the seventh annual Sipps and retirement options conference organised by Henry Stewart.
The group said that among the drivers altering the market are the threat of depolarisation, the latest Government consultative paper on modernising annuities and the continued process of change to Sipp regulations. The conference is split into three sessions.
The morning session, for which registration begins at 8.30am, covers four key areas. Bruce Moss from Tillinghurst Towers Perrin will look at Sipps and annuities in a post-stakeholder world.
Stewart Ritchie, pensions development director at Scottish Equitable, will look at the future development of retirement products. Lymburn will analyse the changing face of advising on retirement options, while Chris Smith, technical adviser at the Inland Revenue, will look at the Revenue's view of Sipps.
The afternoon session offers delegates access to one of two breakout sessions: the technical stream or the market development stream.
The technical stream examines taxation, investment issues and the legal and regulatory framework of Sipps, while the market development stream looks at the role of Sipps in employee benefits and Sipps in practice.
The closing session, beginning at 5pm, will look at the Australian and US experience of Sipps as wrap account-style products. The conference's closing presentation is on whether pensions simplification is a myth or reality.
The conference costs £581.62 per person including VAT. However, there is a reduction for group bookings, with individuals charged at £523.46 including VAT.
