Irish Life International has launched a 100% capital protected growth bond with two duration options offering a minimum return of 10%.
The Secured Growth Bond is the eighth in the group's growth bond series and offers returns linked to the Dow Jones Global Titans Index. The bond offers two choices of term: three years and six-months or five years.
Both options provide a minimum return of 10% over the investment period, regardless of the performance of the markets.
Each of the two durations offers sterling, euro and dollar-denominated versions. All carry 100% protection, with a minimum investment of £10,000, 10,000 and $10,000, but have differing participation rates.
The bonds have a limited offer period from 1 June to 31 July 2002.
The final index value used to calculate the growth attributed to each investor's units is the average of the level of the index at the end of each quarter. The starting level of the index is subtracted from this average.
The percentage growth is worked out from the difference between the start level of the index and Irish Life International's calculation of its final average gain. The return to bondholders is the percentage growth rate multiplied by the investor's participation rate.
