The Sandler review is not likely to be released until July, marking another delay by the Treasury. The review into long-term savings, headed by Ron Sandler, former chief executive of Lloyd's of London, was originally planned for a 1 June release. That deadline was later put back to the end of June and now the Treasury is saying a July date is much more likely. The report is expected to be highly critical of the insurance industry and likely to call for big changes in the type and transparency of its savings products. Much of the attention is likely to focus on with-profits bond funds.
