AIB Govett is offering a 2% discount on Isa investments into the Govett European Strategy unit trust, managed by Peter Kysel, writes James Thorneley.
Until the end of March the initial charge will 3.5% with the annual fee of 1.5% remaining unchanged. IFAs receive 3% initial commission and 0.5% renewal.
The £23m growth oriented fund has benefited from its portfolio exposure to telecom and technology stocks. Over three years it was ranked three out of 88 in the Micropal Europe excluding UK peer group. During the period it rose by 143.8% compared to an average rise of 89%. In an interview with Investment Week this week Kysel explained his investment philosophy and style. He also outlined his reasons for investing in IPOs and how they have contributed to a change in German company culture.
In an unconnected announcement Andrea Sander-Williams has resigned as marketing manager to take a similar position with an internet start-up company from the end of February 2000. Charles Lillis, managing director funds, will now be taking a more direct role in AIB Govett's marketing effort assisted by James Rainbow. Rainbow joined the group in 1996 and has most recently been working in the institutional sales area, being actively involved in the launch of two split capital investment trusts in 1999.
