Carl Lee will take over management of the AA-rated Merrill Lynch UK Smaller Companies fund. The £69m portfolio had been managed by Habib Annous until he left the group last month. Lee had worked alongside Annous. The A-rated £124m Merrill Lynch UK value fund Annous has managed for the past 18 months has been taken over by James Macmillan. Merrills has also recruited Chris Wyley, formerly of Schroders, to its team. He is not expected to run any retail money in the immediate future but may take on some of the group's institutional mandates.
