Next year is a big one for advisers, but on the whole you are an optimistic bunch, looking ahead to a year of marathons, milestones and more clients. Here some share their resolutions for 2013.
Danny Cox, head of advice, Hargreaves Lansdown
Spend more time out of work reading non-work related books.

I'm still deciding on my two or three New Year's Resolutions for 2013. One I will definitely be focusing on is completing the London Marathon, my first, in under 3 hours 45 minutes.
From a business perspective, my main resolution is to ensure a successful launch of our IC Direct fund platform and do my best to shake up the direct to consumer platform market with transparency and new features.
Henry Tapper, director, First Actuarial
I resolve to eliminate cliched jargon from everything I say and write about "optimising DC pension outcomes"
Jeremy Newbegin, director, discretionary management and compliance oversight, The Ethical Partnership
I don't make New Years Resolutions because I always break them. But if I was to this year I would say that I want to know God more intimately.
Ian Jarvis, owner, Bateman Jarvis
Take on more advisers and more clients.
Andrew Elson, chartered financial planner, Beaufort Asset Management
To treat myself more like a client and give more emphasis to my own and my wife's bucket list.
Paul Bradley, chartered financial planner, St. James's Place Wealth Management
I prefer goals to resolutions. My current top 4 are:
1. Spend more quality time with my wife
2. Loose a bit of timber
3. Cement client relationships (my business partner and I have recently acquired new client relationships)
4. Be in a position to start a family
Simon Chalk, equity release planner, Bower Retirement Services
New Year's Resolution; to continue to educate and inform everyone I meet, on the many benefits of releasing equity!
Dan Woodruff, managing director, Woodruff Financial Planning
At the moment it is to get my book finished. I'm working on my Financial Planning book, which should hopefully be ready some time next year.
Chris Williams, chief executive, Ashcourt Rowan Financial Planning
To successfully complete my first triathlon in July, having now run a marathon and completed numerous off-road cycling endurance events. To work hard, enjoy my family and rise to every challenge that the industry faces with a sense of humour and a smile on my face.
Ray Garnet, owner, Utopia Group
I don't do New Year's resolutions but my general goals are to cut down on takeaways, drink less and take more exercise.
