Hear the word property and it might conjure up images of first flats, buy-to-lets and possibly even a nice little retirement cottage in the countryside. What is less likely to spring to mind is commercial property. This asset class hasn’t had the easiest of rides; prices plummeted at the height of the debt crisis and scrutiny by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has meant it’s often referred to as an esoteric investment.
