Here at Zurich, we know you have a choice as to where you place your protection business. There are a number of providers who will offer you products at a low cost - indeed we understand this and whilst we're not always the cheapest, we do believe we offer a proposition which should be compelling overall.
Whilst price is always relevant, it should never be the over-riding factor. What is more important - or worthy of major consideration - is the speed, effort and efficiency offered by a provider through the New Business process. Cost is an issue - but not if it takes forever and causes delay in assuming risk and payment of your commission.
The philosophy at Zurich is not to provide a competitive price and then seek to load rates post-underwriting. We're currently offering standard terms to in excess of 80% of lives, even if they don't all get an immediate decision from our online underwriting system.
Initially, we'll call you to discuss when a case is subject to a rating - this will help you sell the alternative terms to your client and speed up the process.
Importantly, we work hard to get your business on our books as quickly as possible. We use Customer Dedicated Questionnaires (CDQs) as often as possible in place of doctor's reports (GPRs) in an attempt to save valuable time. But if we do need GPRs, or CDQs, we chase then regularly on your behalf. Indeed, with GPRs, we quickly check with doctors' surgeries both that they've received the request and whether they require pre-payment for their completion.
If we require the customer to have a medical examination, we also check that appointments have been made, and follow up where they haven't! If your customer would prefer to have their medical carried out by their own doctor, we can arrange that too.
You have full access to our online pipeline management system which keeps you appraised of the status and progress of individual business submitted by you. If an existing requirement is replaced by a new one, we'll let you know immediately. And we'll actively chase for outstanding requirements such as Direct Debit Instructions or ID checks.
Our online system will of course provide you with quick decisions before you even submit a case to us, allowing you to adjust the benefits requested. A ‘clean' application will take as little as 15 minutes to obtain a decision and be on risk - a fantastic result in any terms. And of course you have the option of submitting fixed underwriting questions or, where the customer is with you or you can re-contact them
to ask further questions, you can use our interactive mode, enhancing the chance of a decision at point of sale.
