Over-the-counter brings news and views on who is doing what in the ETF market.
Two former iShares CEOs have launched a joint venture to help drive change in the ETF industry.
ETF Opportunity Partners has been founded by Lee Kranefuss, former global CEO of iShares and Rory Tobin, former CEO of the international iShares business. During their time at the company, they were both instrumental in its growth and development.
Their new project is designed to drive" transformational opportunities" in the global ETF market, they say. This will be done by helping to push changes in products and services to better serve investors as the market continues to grow.
Northern Trust has returned to the US ETF market with a new family of ETFs named FlexShares, which listed in New York last week.
The new ETFs are FlexShares Morningstar Global Upstream Natural Resources Index Fund, FlexShares Morningstar US Market Factor Tilt Index Fund, FlexShares iBoxx 3-Year Target Duration TIPS Index Fund and the FlexShares iBoxx 5-Year Target Duration TIPS Index Fund.
This is Northern Trust's second entry into the US market, having closed its previous offerings in 2009 after failing to attract significant interest.
