Old Mutual Wealth has hired John-Paul Crutchley as head of investor relations to support shareholder engagement as it embarks on a managed separation from Old Mutual.
Crutchley will liaise with current and future shareholders as the firm goes through the managed separation and will lead the shareholder relationship programme.
The managed separation programme involves demerging from the wider Old Mutual Group and the listing of Old Mutual Wealth on the London and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges.
Crutchley will report to Tim Tookey, chief financial officer at Old Mutual Wealth, who joined earlier this year from Alliance Trust.
Kerry Adams-Strump, who has worked at Old Mutual Group for nine years, has been promoted to investor relations director and will report to Crutchley.
Crutchley joins from Atlas Mara, a financial services group focused on providing propositions for retail and commercial customers across sub-Saharan Africa, where he worked as head of investor relations.
Prior to this, he worked at UBS and Merrill Lynch as a sell-side analyst.
Tookey said: "It is terrific that we have been able to attract somebody of John-Paul's experience and standing to our business. J-P and Kerry make a fantastic team.
"J-P's industry expertise and Kerry's knowledge of our business will be a strong combination as we develop our standalone relationships with analysts and investors."
Crutchley said: "It is a very exciting time to join Old Mutual Wealth; the prospect of being part of a great team, building a great business with a successful standalone future was an irresistible opportunity. I am greatly looking forward to being part of the Old Mutual Wealth team on this journey."
