Exchange Traded Concepts (ETC) has launched a new platform designed to be the fastest and least expensive method for companies to bring an ETF to market. ETC says it is an innovative approach to address the legal and financial hurdles that often limit the flow of new funds coming to market.
Called the ETF-in-a-Box platform, it enables investment managers, independent advisers, foreign managers and others to launch an ETF for their strategy in just 75 days, whilst potentially saving millions in start-up costs. Interested sub-advisors can utilise this turnkey service or create a customised solution with ETC. Interested parties will soon get a chance to see how it works as the company intends to file several private label ETFs over the coming weeks, which will showcase the market demand for what it calls its “inexpensive and efficient method to launch ETFs”.
“It currently takes between 12 and 36 months to receive the necessary regulatory approvals to establish a new ETF family. First mover advantage in ETFs has proven critical in capturing market share, and this loss of time could represent the difference between a successful launch and a missed opportunity,” says J. Garrett Stevens, CEO of ETC. “The ETF-in-a-Box platform is designed to allow managers with cutting edge investment strategies to spend their capital on growth initiatives instead of significant legal and set-up costs.”
ETC confirms it has all the necessary regulatory approvals to offer passive relief to launch both domestic and international fund offerings and intends to file for additional relief, such as active and fixed income, in the immediate future. Unlike other providers, ETC reminds interested companies that it is focused solely on private label ETFs, allowing sub-advisors to bring innovative investment ideas to market under their own brands.
Stevens has extensive experience in ETF start-ups and understands the operational and regulatory complexities associated with listing and managing ETFs from his three years as CEO and co-founder of FaithShares ETFs.
“Exchange Traded Concepts’ ETF-in-a-Box is a turnkey solution leveraged from first-hand best practices experience and supported by extensive relationships built with leading industry partners. We make the process of launching and managing an ETF seamless from start to finish,” says Stevens.
