TCF Fund Managers has hired David Somers as an independent member in its investment committee.
The committee oversees the firm's multi-asset investment process, which is applied to all of its investment funds. It is largely responsible for the due diligence process used to research ETFs and passive mutual funds used by TCF Fund Managers.
The role of the committee, chaired by Gary Mairs, also entails reviewing the investment performance of individual sub-funds, providing feedback, and allowing potential enhancement of the investment process.
It also ensures individual funds are managed in accordance with the firm's investment objectives.
Somers occupies a range of pension trustee board positions and holds two non-executive director posts for Europe Arab Bank and ACE Europe Life.
Prior to this, Somers was managing director and London CIO at Nikko Capital Management.
TCF says it is likely to make further appointments to its investment committee.
