The number of ETFs listed on NYSE Euronext has increased by around 20% year-to-date compared to the end of 2008.
The exchange says that so far this year, its European markets have registered 75 ETF listings and six de-listings. The daily average turnover in August increased by 17.4%, amounting to €263m, while the daily average number of trades rose from 2,624 to 6,904, representing a 163% increase compared to the same period last year. As of the end of August, NYSE Euronext had 417 ETFs and 465 listings from 14 issuers. The ETFs on the exchange cover more than 281 indices, including a range of assets and strategies, such as equity, fixed income, commodities, short and leverage.
