The ETF Advisor k solution allows retirement plan participants to own ETF shares, rather than units from a collective or unitised trust, using the current systems for trading mutual funds
This will enable advisers to use public information and tools to design portfolios to suit their investment strategy.
As most retirement plan processes have been based on trading mutual funds, it has typically been too expensive or operationally difficult to use ETFs in retirement plans, says ETF Advisor k.
At present, all the 170 ETFs offered by iShares are available within the plan.
The plan is targeted to fee-based advisers and trust departments that desire an open-architecture retirement platform.
