Prudential move 'unlikely' to impact PruHealth or PruProtect

Any move abroad by Prudential is "unlikely" to affect either PruProtect or PruHealth, COVER understands.

Reports have been circulating that Prudential is considering moving its headquarters out of the UK due to increased European regulatory requirements from Solvency II. However, with the insurer holding only a minority 25% ownership stake in the protection and private medical insurance arms, it seems the pair will not be impacted by any potential move. Prudential created PruHealth and PruProtect as part of a joint venture with South Africa based Discovery, but Discovery then increased its stake in the partnership to 75% when buying Standard Life Healthcare and integrating it with PruHea...
