Advisers regularly say to me that investment platforms are commoditised and all do the same thing. But platforms are constantly evolving and there are fundamental differences between them. Leaving assets on so-called zombie or legacy platforms when a better solution is available for clients isn't an option. We all know what happens if we don't use a piece of technology regularly - we ultimately become less familiar with how to work it efficiently.
