Since Radcliffe & Newlands was formed in 2006, it has grown from an initial five advisers to a current complement of 18, with little staff turnover. Originally, all our recruitment was achieved organically, taking on people we knew or had done business with, but this is of course not possible to sustain indefinitely and we've had to progress to more formal channels. Recruiting and retaining the right people is in its essence quite simple, yet is often a cause of frustration within the advisory industry. Below we share some of the things we've picked up along the way...
