Old Mutual International, part of Old Mutual Wealth, has appointed Brendan Dolan as sales director, in charge of the firm's business with international advisers.
Dolan has 33 years' experience in financial services, 25 of which have been spent with the company, the last ten in Dubai heading up the Middle East and Africa region.
Throughout his time he has gained knowledge of the international industry, an understanding of distribution channels, including traditional IFA channels, as well as bancassurance and private banking channels, the company said in a statement.
Dolan will commence his role once regulatory approvals have been given. Meanwhile, Old Mutual International is seeking a replacement for Dolan's role in the Middle East.
Dolan said: "I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the international distribution team. Old Mutual International has a great pool of talent and we are well-respected within the industry for the unrivalled support and technical expertise we provide.
"I look forward to building on our success and growing the international business for the benefit of both advisers and customers."
Old Mutual International managing director Peter Kenny added: "The international advice industry is evolving, and it is more important than ever that we play a proactive role in supporting advisers, helping them build sustainable business models.
"Brendan has a real passion for improving customer outcomes and his collaborative leadership style will be a real asset to our business during this period of transition."
