Paul Morton has been appointed as the new tax director of the Office of Tax Simplification (OTS), succeeding John Whiting, who is retiring from the position he has held since the body was established in 2010.
The OTS said Morton, who is retiring as head of group tax at multinational information and analytics company RELX Group, would "provide expert advice, guidance and direction and bring years of experience to the OTS and its board as a non-executive member." It added: "The appointment will increase the ability of the OTS to build on its achievements in simplifying the tax system."
