FCA chief: Mission statement 'not about Brexit'

FCA wants to ensure it focuses on the right areas

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published a consultation document on its 'mission', which is designed to provide a 'guiding set of principles' around its strategy.

Among the various themes the consultation is attempting to tackle, the regulator is seeking opinions on how it should function with regard to redress schemes, the scope of its regulation and how far it should look to protect consumers. FCA chief executive Andrew Bailey (pictured) stressed the work had nothing to do with the country's decision to exit the European Union in June.
