Octopus launches £70m fundraising for Titan VCT

Octopus Investments is looking to raise additional investments totalling £70m for its £309m Titan Venture Capital Trust, the largest VCT in the UK.

The firm attributed the growth in investor demand to an increasing number of people looking for complementary options for retirement planning following pension freedom. In April, the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) announced the VCT sector had raised £457.5m during the 2015/16 tax year, the third-highest year for fundraising on record and the highest since 2006.
