Columbia Threadneedle's Leigh Harrison to retire from industry

Renowned UK equity manager and head of equities at Columbia Threadneedle Leigh Harrison has announced he will retire on 30 June this year.

After a 32-year career, the last ten years of which have been spent at Columbia Threadneedle, Harrison (pictured) said it was time to "do some of the things I have wanted to do for a long time". He is co-manager of the £904m UK Equity Income Alpha fund alongside Richard Colwell, who will take over lead management of the fund, and deputy manager onthe £1.7bn UK fund to lead manager Chris Kinder.
