Regulator to launch retirement outcomes review

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is to launch a retirement outcomes review in the wake of pension freedom.

Its 2016/17 business plan said the review will consider the impact of the pension reforms on competition and switching in the market. It said conducting the review in the coming year would allow the regulator to integrate the review with its other work and wider initiatives including the Financial Advice Market Review, its ongoing consultation on changes to our pension rules and guidance, data collection exercises and the government's next steps on exit charges and pension transfers.
