MPs to grill Ros Altmann on new state pension

Pensions minister Ros Altmann will be quizzed by the Work and Pensions Select Committee on Monday 18 January as part of an ongoing inquiry into the new state pension.

It comes as the committee called on the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to make urgent changes to the information they are sending to people reaching retirement age. The committee, which is chaired by Labour MP for Birkenhead Frank Field, said in a statement: "Altmann would be asked to give her views on the issues raised in the interim report.  "Altmann herself said some aspects of the reforms have been miscommunicated in the past, agreeing that some aspects of the new state pension had been mis-sold.
