The government is considering pushing the "emergency pause" button on auto-enrolment for employees such as nannies and carers, an official report states.

Under the auto-enrolment rules people who have only one employee will have to fund pension contributions for qualifying employees. All qualifying employees will have reached their staging date by the end of February 2018. That means families who have nannies or people who use carers will be faced with pension responsibilities. However, they could be given more time, according to a National Audit Office report detailed in the Daily Telegraph.
