FCA proposes new approved qualification

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) wants to add an undergraduate degree in financial planning to its list of approved qualifications.

The BSc (Hons) in Financial Planning, Investment and Risk is awarded by the University of South Wales, based in Cardiff. On the university's website it said the course has been developed in consultation with financial services industry specialists, and professional bodies such as the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). "As such, graduates will be well-prepared for careers in financial planning, investment management, consultancy and financial services on completion of this degree," the university's website stated.
