Trial of adviser accused of hacking client data delayed

A financial adviser accused of lifting clients' details from his employer's database before joining another firm is set to face a retrial next year after a verdict failed to be reached in the original case.

Stephen Wales is accused of stealing client information from The Pension Drawdown Company - an appointed representative (AR) of Tenet - in 2010 before joining national IFA Positive Solutions. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has estimated a retrial will take place in February next year after a jury at Exeter Crown Court failed to reach a verdict in a week-long fraud case heard in July 2014.
