Legal & General is offering new protection customers the opportunity of obtaining an independent second opinion on their condition, should they need to make a claim.
The face-to-face 'second medical opinion' option has been designed for those who wish to discuss their condition further with a specialist, the provider said. It will come as standard on all new policies, with the service managed by Healix Health Services. L&G added it would pay a contribution of up to £300 towards the cost of a consultation, pointing out the average cost is £250. Term assurance, critical illness, family and personal income plans, income protection benefit and business protection are included in the offer.
